Collection: Calatheas

Calatheas are wonderful plants that originate from the tropical Americas and have many beautiful foliage patterns, some of which you wouldn't believe occur naturally! They make excellent house plants as long as they get enough moisture. Calathea naturally grow under the thick canopies of South American jungles. Don't be worried if you see their leaves drop during the day! Calathea have a property called 'nyctinasty' meaning their leaves move throughout the day to capture light better.

Calathea prefer moist, well-draining soil. Another plant that doesn't like a soggy bottom!

As for light, they do great in bright, indirect light and even a deep shade! Keep far from direct sunlight as they can have the edges of their leaves burn from direct sunlight.
