Though not technically a cactus, this plant is a favorite among succulent collectors. The thick fleshy leaves resemble columns with soft fin-like spikes on four sides. The bloom of this plant is a large 5-pointed star shape that resembles a starfish. The inside of the flower is quite fuzzy and features concentric burgundy bands all over. The flowers of this plant feature a scent that is similar to decomposing organic matter as it utilizes an uncommon pollinator flies!
